Tufts University Dowling Hall
419 Boston Avenue
Medford, MA
Architect: Johnson Roberts Associates
Size: 2,500 SF
Schedule: 6 weeks
Completion: September 2014

Renovations on the 7th of Dowling Hall, located in the Tufts University campus. Lake Contracting was brought in as the GC and given 5 weeks to complete the renovation during the university’s summer break.

Work included demolition of the existing space and creation of ten office spaces, as well as updated HVAC units. Lake Contracting also created two small conference rooms in the Student Services library, and installed a DIRTT wall within the library area.

Lake’s subcontractors were accommodating of the short window of time to complete the project by summer’s end. The job was completed before the students arrived for the new fall semester. Lake Contracting and their subcontractors were mindful to staff who occupied the space during construction as well.

Tufts University was extremely pleased with how quickly Lake Contracting was able to get the scope of work completed and turned back over to the staff with little to no interruption to the university’s work flow.
